A Note of Caution

We have learned over the years that trying to describe the Latino market segment is extremely difficult, because it is almost impossible to generalize.  There are very few questions that have a straightforward answer, and many times the questions are best answered by saying "it all depends".  Since we are in the business of generalizing, we will paint a picture that adequately resembles the true market.  We must however caution the educated user that there are many exceptions to our oversimplification of the U.S. Latino segment.

Use this information only as a guide.  If you represent a business that is looking to market their products or services to the Hispanic community, we strongly advise at least a minimum level of consulting.  Please contact us for more information.

Note...

How come some of the people shown on the left don't look Hispanic?

Hispanic or Latino is not a race.   There are Latinos of many different races and physical characteristics.  For more information see our FAQ article, Why doesn't the census include Hispanic as a race?, and the Latino Blog post Let's Stop Segmenting People by Race!
