Video is powerful... extremely powerful! No matter how persuasive a written report can be, it pales in comparison to a quality video clip showing the actual consumer opinion. While many of us have been using video in gathering insight and presenting qualitative research findings for years, there has always been something mysterious surrounding video production. It required technical know-how and equipment that only a handful of us were willing to explore. But technology has made video production accessible to all QRCs who are willing to take a little time to learn. If you have been wondering about how you can use video in qualitative research, this presentation is for you! The presentation will cover the A to Z of qualitative video production. It will start with the very basics of what needs to be taken into account when you plan to use video in qualitative. It will cover the video gathering basics; from the need to have an operator for traditional focus groups, to new video gathering tools like Flip cameras, webcams, and consumer cell-phone video. The presentation will also cover video editing and using video in PowerPoint presentations, online distribution, and DVD video reports. Part of this workshop-style presentation will be interactive and hands-on.
